Activities

We are always looking for new activities to serve the needs and interests of our residents. Here are a few of our current regular offerings. Times and dates can be found on our Calendar. If you have an idea for something new, let us know!

Car Rides and Walk Abouts: Car rides with Jeani are scheduled periodically. Sometimes we visit specific locations, and other times we just enjoy the scenic countryside. If you have any suggestions on local places your loved one might enjoy seeing, please let us know.

Cowboy Jim: Cowboy Jim visits us every three months to sing, serenade the guests, and make some joyful noise together. Everyone in the room has a good time, and smiles abound!

Fun & Games: There are lots of opportunities for residents to participate as they choose, with activities such as kickball, trivia, Balloon Bat, ball toss, bingo, word scrambles, exercise, card nights, Wheel of Fortune, penny pitch, and more.

Ranger Kate: Ranger Kate from Ringgold County Conservation visits regularly to bring the natural beauty of the earth and its creatures right to our doors.

Religious Services & Activities: At Clearview we are very lucky to have a team of pastors that ensure our residents’ religious needs are met. Pastor Scott Marcum leads bible study every Monday at 2:00 pm. The first Wednesday of the month Pastor Shurmaine McAlpine leads church; the second Wednesday Pastor Tim Maxa leads church; third Wednesday is led by Pastor Terry Roberts; fourth Wednesday is led by Pastor Scott Marcum. Pastor Karla Lyddon fills in as necessary. Dr. Todd Daily of Greenfield, who works as a Chaplain for Care Initiative Hospice, has recently volunteered to join for an hour every other week to lead a Men’s Group.

Taylor County Pink-Out: Annually, Clearview sponsors a county-wide Pink Out to raise money for the care needs of cancer patients in our area. We run a competition to see who can sell the most t-shirts, and our residents get involved also. Our goal in 2015 was to reach $1,000, to be donated to both GRMC and Alegent Health.

Parties and Special Events: Every month gives us a new reason to celebrate! We recognize birthdays and holidays with bright and seasonal decorations and activities. The public is invited and welcome to join us always, but especially on these festive days.

Visitors: We are blessed to receive visitors each day, and our staff and residents are always thrilled to see new faces in the hallways.
